Jigsaw Seasons – puzzles with surprises
I made the iApp Jigsaw Seasons with my husband. We saw how much fun our daughter had making jigsaw puzzles on iPhone and iPad and thought it might be a fun hobby project to do together. So I started drawing a picture. I do not know why, but the Autumn image was the outcome of my sketches.
One image is too few, so with the seasons as the theme of the app, I drew the rest of the illustrations, thinking it could be a great offset for talks about the seasons and out door activities.
Kids play jigsaw puzzles to find an image, to explore. They are driven by curiosity, and we wanted to honor that, so curiosity is rewarded in Jigsaw Seasons: When all the puzzle pieces are in place, single parts of the image will react to touching or tilting the screen.
Watching our daughter play jigsaw puzzles both as apps and with traditional physical cut outs, we thought, we should use the possibilities, the digital versions give us to choose and customize, so we made three levels of difficulty of all jigsaw puzzles in Jigsaw Seasons.
